Wednesday, November 26: Like millions of families across the fruited plain, we’re gearing up for Thanksgiving tomorrow at our Palm Beach Gardens home. This is the first year, though, that we’re a family of five. Nicki and I are certainly thankful that we adopted Samuel and Alexis earlier this year.

Tuesday, November 25: I have my head in my hands for several reasons this morning. First, I feel for the millions of families struggling to keep their home, make ends meet, and put food on the table. Even if you’re still employed, everyone’s feeling the pinch because grocery prices are up 7.5 percent this year, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, which is about double the rate of inflation and the fastest that food prices have risen since 1990.

Tuesday, November 11: Perhaps you’ve noticed that Coke and Pepsi are going at each other’s throats, not over who makes the best-tasting cola drinks but who sells the best water. Actually, it would be more accurate to say that the Cola Wars have spilled over to the Flavored Water Wars.

Monday, November 10: The NY Times story was about how the Piedmont High School boys water polo team in Northern California was having a tough time raising money because their school banned “bake sales” featuring homemade brownies and cupcakes.
