Sunday, April 27: The other reason I was in the Peach State this week was to speak at the Alive Expo, a natural health and wellness event held at the Georgia World Congress Center, the huge convention hall right next to the CNN Building in downtown Atlanta.

There are some days when all the travel is worth it, and today was one of those days when I took my son, Joshua, to Canaan Valley Ranch in the North Georgia Mountains.

Friday, April 25: I’ve been fortunate to visit the 185-acre Canaan Valley Ranch on several occasions, and last year I took Nicki and Joshua for a great visit to this pristine property that’s about a two-hour drive north of Atlanta near historic Dahlonega and Suches, Georgia. The owners, John and Kim Pace, have become dear friends of ours, and we love spending time with them.

Wednesday, April 23: Joshua and I flew from West Palm Beach to Atlanta Hartsfield yesterday. I picked up a rental car at the airport and drove straight to the house of my sister, Jenna. She’s married but doesn’t have children, so she was thrilled to don the role of “Aunt Jenna” to Joshua and look after him while I got some things done in the Atlanta area. In the late afternoon, I hopped over to Natural Foods Warehouse in Alpharetta and did a seminar, which I was pleased with.

We’ve heard a lot about low-carb diets; now we’re hearing about “low carbon” diets.

Tuesday, April 22: Today’s Earth Day, a great day to talk about ways to take weight off the planet, which is one of the foundational pillars of the Perfect Weight America theme to “change your diet, change your life, and change your world.”

We celebrated our first family Passover Seder last night, an enriching tradition.

Sunday, April 20: Those who are familiar with my books know that I’ve talked about my Jewish heritage. One of the most special persons in my life, my Grandma Rose, was born into a Jewish family in Poland in 1922, but managed to escape the Holocaust.

I had a great week in which I was able to sleep in my own bed every night—a first since Christmas time.

Saturday, April 19: You know what they say about home cookin’—it’s the best. The Perfect Weight America Tour was firmly ensconced in South Florida this week as I made appearances at local health food stores and taped interesting segments that will be part of future “Extraordinary Health” TV shows.

Have you ever heard of “agritourism”? You might as more farms and ranches open their doors to city visitors
Jordan Rubin's PWA Blog By Jordan Rubin on 5/12/2008 1:17 PM
Friday, April 18: USA Today had an interesting “trend piece” in the Life section today about “eco-conscious” families using their vacation time to either visit or stay at farms as a way to get back to nature as well to introduce their children to farm life and teach them about the origin of organic foods.

I’ve got the best of both worlds going this week: I get to promote the Perfect Weight America message, and I get to sleep in my own bed at night.

Thursday, April 17: After 14 weeks, thousands of miles on the open highway, and way too many red-eye flights, I’m getting a break from all the breakneck travel. For the next few weeks, I’m sticking close to the home fires while I stay in the Sunshine State promoting the Perfect Weight America message.

And what did you eat for breakfast this morning?
Jordan Rubin's PWA Blog By Jordan Rubin on 5/7/2008 1:42 PM
Monday, April 14: After being home in Palm Beach Gardens for several days, I made a quick overnight trip to Columbus, Ohio, where I spoke before 1,800 at World Harvest Church, pastored by Rod Parsley. I’m appreciative for the congregation’s attention, and I felt like the people in the pews responded well to my message that God wants us healthy so that we’re available to serve and minister to others.

History was never my best subject at school.

Friday, April 11: I have an alert listener in my audience. After speaking Wednesday night at the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center in York, Pennsylvania, I heard (via e-mail) from a nice man named Victor, who politely corrected me about my statement that an ancient Greek named Marathon ran a marathon distance to warn Athens of a pending attack.
