Since snacks are listed in the breakfast, lunch & dinner selections, can I choose one of them for a meal?  I noted when choosing the apple snack for dinner that the receipe is for 1 (2 cups apples) but the portion size is 3.5.  I am confused.  What is it trying to tell me?

Also, many of menus are for more than 1 person.  Is there a tool on the website that will change the menu from say 6 servings to 1 serving?

Hi, Flora,
I'm not really sure about changing the serving sizes but I think the snacks listed at meals are maybe meant as a side. An apple would not be an adequate meal, as Jordan discusses in the book the importance of including in meals a balance of carbs, protein, and fat. An apple would just be a carb by itself.

Hope this helps. Sorry I can't answer the questions about the portion sizes.

The way I understand it is if it says 4 servings and the portion size is 2 you eat 1/2 of what you made or in other words 2 of the 4 servings. As for the portions that are so close to the whole portion as with the apple I would just eat the 2 cups. The only way I know to change the recipe is to divide the ingredient measurement by the serving amount then take the number servings you want to make and multiply by ingredient measurement by the number of servings you want to make. Here is an example:

Turkey Sausage and Cheese Fritatta

* 6 eggs
* 1 pinch pepper
* 2 oz cheddar cheese
* 1 tbsp butter
* 1 cup sour cream
* 1 pinch salt
* 4 oz turkey sausage

Serves 4 - Eat 1 Servings

In this case if you wanted 1 serving you would have to use 2 eggs (It would be hard to use 1 1/2 eggs to make this so use 2.) , 1/2 ounce of cheese, 1 teaspoons of butter, 1/4 cup sour cream, 1 oz of the sausage.

If you want 2 servings: 3 eggs, 1 oz of cheese, 2 teaspoons of butter, 1/2 cup of sour cream, 2 oz of sausage.

I hope this makes sense. If not I will try to explain it better.
