I got the PWA book for free at a health food store.  I LOVE it!  I actually picked up my first cleanse (whole body cleanse) the day I got the book, so I am doing it and eating mostly raw, cutting dairy, beef, pork, white flour, sugar, etc.  I am on day 3.  I am reading the book and getting very excited, although overwhelmed, too.  I would like any advice on how to do all of this on a limited budget while caring for/homeschooling five children (ages 8, 6, 5, 3, 3)!!!     We have always (however inconsistently) limited or forbidden, lol, white flour, sugar, sugar subsitutes, caffiene, hydrogenated oils.  I am just not sure about the supplements.  I haven't read much of the book at all, but am reading it now.  Any advice?  Anyone need an accountability partner?

It is a process, and you will develop the habits into your routine a little at a time. I got really overwhelmed at first, but since picking up a book by Jordan Rubin 2 years ago I have changed so many things in my life. It takes time, just remember to keep on educating yourself about eating real foods and holistic living and it will become easier. As for the budget, I shop at Trader Joe's for a lot of my food. If you have one close by it is a great place to grocery shop for whole foods on a budget. If you don't, you can still make it work. Shop at your local farmer's market, join a CSA program, here is a great resource for local farms, etc. (www.localharvest.org) Luckily there are more people eating this way so the prices are coming down some because of more demand for organic, whole foods. My biggest advice is to stay positive and don't beat yourself up for not being perfect all the time. I tend to be too hard on myself and forget to look at the positive changes while focusing on what I'm doing wrong. I have started a Positive Daily Affirmations journal and only write down positive things I've done throughout the day, and not just with my health, but in general. It has helped me to see things in a broader perspective and has ehlped me so much!

I stay at home and plan to homeschool too! I have a 3 1/2 year old and a 10 month old. :) Good luck and feel free to message me if you'd like. :)

Hello
I am just starting and wondering how i am going to do all this i have a 3 year old and a 13 yr old and husband who think I need to keep the junk food around for them and just have enough willpowere to not eat it. So, I'm not sure how I'm going to do this. they resent having to have their life changed to help me.

This may be one of those things that you discover is something that you must do for yourself, so unfortunately, that also often means by yourself.

If your husband and your 13 year old want "junk" food so bad, let them go to the store and buy it on their own time?

Try to change their habits over slowly. Maybe find some vegetable chips and put them in a bowl on the coffee table if they're used to snacking while watching TV or something. They'll try one not knowing what it is, and maybe they'll like them. In place of cheese popcorn, there's great stuff out there called Pirates Booty - the white cheese flavor is so good! There's also the option of baking things yourself and substituting ingredients for healthier ones. In most cases, you'd never know the difference, and sometimes, it's even better.

I have 6 kids and a willing (in theory :) ) husband. We are going to all do it because of health. I can't afford many of the supplements right now, but I'm going to research them and start with the most beneficial to my circumstances first. I've been introducing the kids to a healthier lifestyle for a while now, so I hope this isn't to much of a shock.
