Hi all. I picked up a copy of PWA yesterday by accident, but as Kung Fu Panda says, "there are no accidents." So this must be God's will for me right now. I haven't been able to put it down and immediately joined the site. I plan to begin this coming Sunday.

Anyway my husband and I have very different body types. I need to lose 30 pounds, I have addiction, intolerance, and allergy issues, and have discovered some serious medical issues recently. On the other hand, my husband is 6" and 145 lbs. He's not allergic to anything and he thinks he's healthy. He is a small frame distance runner, so he eats a lot of pasta and drinks loads of Gatorade. I think he could stand to gain 10 pounds of muscle--he's all bone. Our son, unfortunately, seems to be a mix of both of us--my husband's skinny body type, but my allergies and intolerances.

How do I manage food for all of us? What do others do for their families? Do I just make what works for me and add more carbs for them? Should I enroll him on his own plan and just monitor it myself?

Blessed,

Fran

I wish I could help I have had this battle for years.

We have allergies in my family but no one has the same allergy. We can eat any fruit or veggie out there. CORRECTION ~ no star fruit. We can not have legumes in the house , most of us are allergic to peanuts , soybeans , lentils and lima beans.  We can not have most grains. Millet & brown rice are fine for us all. Dairy ~ NO!  Eggs ~ NO!  Sometimes it is difficult to have a varied diet. I just wish I could pickup a recipe book without having to make changes to accomadate our special diet needs. I just have to pick and choose.

I will say that when I cook a meal it is for everyone. I would find it very difficult to make more than one meal for breakfast , lunch , dinner & snacks.
