| My question about the fucothin is has anybody had a problem with a reaction to it? When I took the recommended dosage, I had a really serious time with a dryness and almost rash like redness on my eyelids. Terrible itching, etc. When I quit taking it my eyes cleared up. I now take a reduced dosge and had has been ok but don't think it is really helping me in weight loss or metabolism boost. I took an extra one the last two days and sure enough today I have an itchy patch on my eyelid. I haven't seen anyone mention anything like this. |

Wow - it sounds like you're allergic to something in it! I wouldn't take it, if I reacted like that. I think anytime you expose yourself to something you're allergic to, you are stressing your adrenal glands. And, since it's not really helping you anyway, it's definitely not worth it! I hope you can find something else that works for you, that you're not bothered by.
Blessings,
-Catherine |

How long have you been doing the plan? How is it working? I am a homeschooling mom from Texas and am just getting started. Can I do this with all I have on my plate???? |

I first read The Maker's Diet (by Jordan Rubin) about 4 years ago (I was so shocked to learn that "low fat" isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread!), and have been following his eating guidelines since then. I don't follow the Perfect Weight plan strictly at all - especially not since we sold our house and moved from Virginia to North Carolina a few weeks ago! I've been SO busy! What I find difficult about the PWA plan is that the rest of my family is all very thin (Hubby is 6' 5" and weighs 190 pounds! Both our boys are similar to my husband in body build), so no one else needs to, or even can, eat the way the PWA plan calls for. Also, the meals on the plan are very expensive (at least where we live, all that fish on the plan costs way too much to make it for my whole family), so I either have to make 1 meal for myself, and one meal for everyone else, or else I really can't follow the plan 100%. So, I've been following the basic principles - eating whole grains instead of white, processed grains, avoiding or at least limiting white potatoes, using "real" foods, like butter instead of margerine, etc, including organic beef in our diet, and some fish (about one meal a week is usually fish for the meat), and organic veges, drinking water or green tea - no sodas. We also bring water with us in a stainless steel water bottle whenever we go somewhere, so we're not tempted to drink water from a water fountain (the fountains almost always have water that is chlorinated and fluoridated - ugh!) I really like the fuco peanut butter bars. I always have some with me in my purse, for those times when we get delayed and don't make it home for lunch. I can eat one of those bars, instead of finding something far less healthy in a convenience mart. (I never go to fast food places - they always make me sick - I think they all use monosodium glutamate in a lot of the foods.) I also try to exercise several times a week. (I usually walk, and also do weight-lifting with light-weight dumbells -- or, lately, with the firewood we had delivered that needs to be stacked. :) My weight still isn't where I'd like it to be. But, I'm aiming for healthy eating and healthy living, more than a certain number on the scale. So, I guess my bottom-line answer to your question is: do what makes sense for your schedule and your family, and don't stress yourself out trying to follow the plan perfectly. Also, I highly recommend praying about our bodies - pray about keeping them healthy, and having the Lord's perspective on our appearances. It's so easy to forget that He made us the way He wants us - and we don't have to look like our ultra-thin neighbor, or the woman sitting across the aisle in church. We just have to remember that our bodies are God's temple, and we only need to seek to please Him with how our bodies look and how we care for them (easier said than done -- I know!!!). How many children do you have? How old are they? (If you like, you can email me at HomeIsSchool@gmail.com) Blessings, -Catherine |

Hi, Catherine and Tammy! I homeschool too! At least until this year. We are missionaries in the South Pacific so I homeschool while we are there but we are in the States for about 8 months so my older 3 children are attending a private school near where we are staying in SC. I also read the Maker's Diet about 4 years ago and learned so much! I've completely changed my way of eating since then as well as for my family. It's difficult to strictly follow the plan where we live in the S. Pacific but we do as much as we can (fish isn't a problem there though!). I'm not strictly following the PWA plan either but staying as close to it as I can. I started a little group in the forums where some of us are posting to keep each other accountable and for encouragement. If you want to join us, we'd love to have you! It's under Public Pages and Testamonials and the forum is "Need Support and Encouragement. It's great to meet you! |

welcome to PWA! I am in my third week and have yet to try fucothin. Do not have the money. I hope to get it soon though. I love this program but money is a issue with us to. It is just my hubby and me and a girl from church who lives in our household. I fix what I can and they have the option to eat or not. I do not do the two meal thing. They both love the meat chili so I am going to keep that onhand this winter. Broculli soup to. I take the vitamin code and love them although I am almost out and cant replace them. My fingernails are growing like crazy! My skin looks better to. Anyway good luck over the holidays and I am going to try and keep up with these message boards as they are the only support I have. God bless |

I got the book about a year ago, but just started reading today (at the prompting of my healthfood store friend :-). I didn't do well on the Maker's diet--I gained weight. I think that's because I'm a mixed type (according to Mercola). I haven't started fucothin but I heard mixed reviews on the product. I have so many allergies I can't even do most cleanses. I can take most GoL products based on the ingredient lists I've read. I don't know if I'm allowed to refer to other sites, but I found that you can get supplements (including GoL) real cheap at vitacost dotcom. My husband and I have been using them for years. I also search for sourcecode online and can get an additional 5-8 percent off depending on what I find. The shipping is a flat rate --if i remember correctly it's $4.99. It's the only way I can afford my diet (lots of allergies) and take the supplements I need. I hope this helps! |

Have you heard of an ALCAT test? I took one in 2004. The lab (or doc) takes a couple vials of blood and testing is done on over 200 foods, additives, and molds. I found I was allergic/sensitive to over 60 foods. Over time, I was able to reintroduce most of them back into my diet. Some I still can't eat to this day. It might help you too. |

| I haven't been on this site for a while -- life has been very busy the past few months! The blood test for allergies is interesting. Do you know if you have to have recently eaten a certain food (so your blood would have antibodies for it) for the test to show that you're allergic to that food? There are some foods I've been avoiding for years - like gluten - and I keep hoping someday I'll be able to eat them again. But, I'm afraid to try eating them to find out - my reactions to them are too unpleasant to risk. I know there is a blood test where you do have to have eaten the food recently, or it won't show up as an allergy on the test. |

I am taking Fucothin and doing very well on it. I did have a rash on my eyelids at one time, but was caused by something else. I wonder if people who have problems are eating exlusively, organic foods and drinks, some other brands less expensive, but organic. I find the things in other foods cause more allergies with me. Doing fine with the Fucothin. Lost 52 pounds in 1 year, with listening when the Holy Spirit warned me, when I wanted to do the opposite of what Jordan Rubin says to do. I stayed strick with what I was doing, with minimal cheats most of the time, until the 4th phase, which you add some of the things your missing on 1-4. I don't have acid relux anymore, indigestion, pain from other areas, and my fingernails do grow. I work 40+ hours a week, have 4 kids, 50 years old, with a thyroid problem. I am on a limited budget, and my husband started supporting my efforts when he saw I was not just doing another diet. We grew our own food, and canned to have the good foods, some in flower pots. I have 20 more pounds to go for my goal weight, so I started with the cleanse again, and have started Phase 1 at this point. It gets easier, if you can make it, being devoted to the first 3 phases. As he says in his book, it re-sets your homones and metabolism. I understand now what he was trying to do. Don't rationalize yourself into cheating, except how he allows you to. I did, and caused slow downs. Read the book over, until you understand what he is accomplishing by this. Ask God to give you strength and endurance for your journey, to a new life, free from the bondage of food. I love it!! I did it for a while off the Fucothin to see if it made a big difference, I lost continuously on it, it was slower off them. May God bless your efforts! Please don't give up. Anything that takes time, is worth the effort!! Patty B. |

| I used to take fucothin but it made me have terrible gas pains. At first I didn't realize that it was the fucothin until I stopped taking it. I even went to the emergency the first time it happened and that's how I found out it was gas pain. |

Hey Everyone Just some advice while taking this product and getting on the program not only do you need to eat the meals correctly and take the pills but exercise too! I have been working out, simple exercise's 3 to 4 times a week for an hour each time. I have lost 18lbs and 4 sizes in 1 month. I know some people dont have the time but even in the evenings this helps.....I have 6 kids and I am always busy so it's hard to fit the time in, but it just takes a little patience. I know everyone can do this! Good Luck to all and God Bless |

Hello,
My name is Gracey, and I've neen on the PWA for a about a month now(just a few weeks on the site htough). I've lost a total of twenty pounds(184lbs-164lbs!), and am hoping to lose thirty more pounds. My question is, if the weight seems to be coming of pretty well by eating right and exercising, and my energy level has skyrocketed, then do I need to take the Fucothing? Dose it really work? Should I wait till I git a plataou? Any help on this subject would be great!

| Gracey- I think whether you take the fucothin is up to you. It is probally helping but just by eating and exercising right the weight should come off. I no longer take it however I exercise 6 days a week for 1-1 1/2 hours and I eat healthy. I am not trying to lose weight anymore but just to regulate it and be healthy. |
