I am considering raising my own produce and meat.  I had some questions.

What do I feed chickens/turkey/guinea for them to be considered organic and healthy to eat?  I understand they are free range, but don't I feed them something?

Also, if I were to raise a cow, what do I feed it so that it is considered healthy and organic?

Are quail and dove acceptable for the pwa program?

Thanks, Tanna Clinton

Where I live you have to feed the animals something because we get snow in the winter and they would starve otherwise so I would feed them an organic animal feed suitable for the type of animal you are trying to raise.

I have heard to be certified organic, the animal must be fed organic feed (hay and grain that was grown organically).  I think it is considered natural if you avoid hormones whether it be in their food or hormones you inject to promote growth.  Natural can be fed non organic feed or feed that was raised with the use of chemicals to control weeds, etc.

Misty,

I will ask when I go down to get my raw milk, honey,  grass raised meat, and my raw honey later this week. I know they feed their chickens a mixture of some type of organic feed since I've seen them mix up something. I am so thankful to find them.

whoops sorry this is for you Tanna since you asked the question I guess. Hi Chrystal. I am still around and plugging along. Are you girls going to do the cleanse this month? Just wondering.
