| Hello ladies! I'm new here today after buying FucoThin and getting the Perfect Weight America book at the Organic Market. Today is my second day of using FucoThin. I did wake up with a headache, but know that it is from detoxing/thyroid issues instead of the pills. This year I decided to spring clean my body after the incredibly long winter we had in Wisconsin. Feel better already just knowing that I'm taking control and possess the tools to succeed. I'm looking forward to our healthy journey together! |

| Denise I don't think we will have to take the fucothin forever. Once we achieve a healthy body weight and if we stay on a healthy eating regimen and continue to do some level of exercise, I see no reason for the "fat" to pack back on. I know I plan on taking my supplements,(perfect food, living multi, omega-zyme, primal defense, and living calcium). I can afford to buy them now that I no longer eat out a lot, buy coffee and lunches out every day. It is amazing how much we spend on that crap......I know I was stunned when I actually tracked it all, but hey not using it pays for most of my supplements! I will continue them, eating right and doing exercise for mind and body, and it is my expectation not put any weight back on. I picture myself in that skinny me everyday, my husband swears it is working!! I hope you continue with much success! |

Robin, how is the living multi vitamin working for you? I sometimes have a problems taking multi vitamins so I don't take them.
I have taken the primal defense and love the effect of it.
Thanks!

Hey Donna, I love the living multi vitamins, what a difference from those one a day pills. I had to stop taking them before my surgery because of the vitamin E in them - apparently it promotes bleeding. When I started back on them, I took two a day, one in the morning and one in the evening. About a week later, I took two in the morning and two in the evening, and now I am back up to three in the morning and three in the evening. I have never had any issues with them at all, and I have more energy and just plain feel better! Hope that helps you! |

Thanks Robin...just one question. How come you take so much of the living multi? I never took it so, that just seems like a lot of vitamins to take. Good Lord I think I could just have that as a meal....haha.
How is everything else going for you. How long have you been on this program? I am curious to hear how everyone is doing.
I hope this works for everyone. I know that logging on to this helps keep me on track as well.
Have a great weekend too

Where are the best discount supplement websites to get the garden of life supplements at? I have been getting my supplements on vitashoppe website. Ihave been looking at vitacost website. Saw that they had the fucoprotein bars on sale for about $14.95 for a box of 12 bars in it. I thought that was a good deal. Denise |

There is always a $5 coupon in the box for FUCOTHIN; plus you print the internet price off www.vitaminshoppe.com and take in the store to get the same price.
Store price $49.99 Internet Price $34.97 minus $5.00; you only pay $29.97 |

I too have Thyroid disease and this have been the plan ever because of previous side from other diets. I live in the herbal store because I refuse to take meds. I have have lost weight before and the smaller no issues with thyroids. Thyroids only becomes an issue with weight; stress and me having kids. Well, had my last child for one. Two I changed jobs and got rid of the stress and last I am working on the weight lost. So far been on this meal plan 30 days; lost 23 lbs.
As far FUCOTHIN; is does not have you working over drive like some fat burners I have experince. But along with the FUCOTHIN, I take a Thyro Support for nutritional aid for a healthly thyroid gland. You can buy at any herb store. Vitamin Shoppe, Whole Foods, Earth Fare, GNC, Home Encomincs, etc...
I use Thyro-Max Support by Country Life ~ Thiamin Riboflavin, Iofine, Zinc, L-Tyrosine, L-Aspartic. Read this ~http://www.naturallydirect.net/thyroid-supplement.htm
i hope this helps...Stephanie |

Robin, that is good to hear.
I have another question, in reading the book it say's for phase one that you should avoid Keifer, but the menu plan for this has it.
What gives. I am finding some contradicting things between the book and the menu planner.
Does anyone else find this as well?
I am just starting the cleanse today...I know I am a little backward on this because I started the program before I got into the book.

Stephanie,
Thanks for sharing the thyroid information. Even though I'm on synthetic meds (long before I knew I had a natural alternative) I still have all the symptoms of hyprothyroidism. Twice my doctor has drastically cut the amount and twice I have immediately gained 30 lbs. Even with eating organic foods whenever possible, no red meat, no refined sugar and no alcohol, the 30 lbs. came on very quickly. He and I have argued to the point of me desparately seeking other alternatives.
My metabolism is about dead. I have been following PWA, exercising, FucoThin -- everything -- and have not budge one ounce on the scale in 8 days. It's frustrating, but somehow I think the alternative is worse. Losing nothing is better than gaining another 10 pounds.
I plan on seeing a Naturopathic MD soon and have been reading about the foods/minerals to enhance thyroid gland and the foods to stay away from - broccoli, soy products, etc. I'd like to try supplementation as described in the website you were so kind to list but need to see first how my body will react to that plus the synthetic meds. Don't think a person can go wrong with natural supplements....I'm hoping.
Can you tell the difference with your thyroid supplements? Do you have your T3 and T4 numbers check with a TSH test? Or do you go by how you feel? Thanks again for the info you shared.

Hey Donna, To answer the question I missed I take 6 living multi because that is the daily dose to get what we need each day. I have had so much trouble with my health (hence the surgery) that my doctor told me to take the full dose every day so as not to miss any essentials that may be missing in my food. I only had to stop the week before the surgery because vitamin e makes you bleed more. To answer your other question, I am starting month 3 on the program here. I thought the Kefir thing was weird too, since it put it on my menu right away too. I just used yogurt instead of the kefir, I like it better anyways. I feel way to good to be recovering from surgery, and am anxious to get outdoors and working on my gardens/landscaping projects. I believe the supplements have helped to make this happen, along with the exercise I did up front to get into shape. Jane, I would be interested to hear what the doc says about your thyroid problems. I have a close friend who is struggling with the same issue, and is also going to see a naturopathic md too. She said she has the same problem with the metabolism. She had extremely high blood pressure, which is better now, but she is tired constantly. I used to have thyroid problems too, but they seem to have abated, and we still monitor is just the same. I go for my physical next month and will be anxious to see what my labs look like. I wish you good luck on your journey and hope that you get resolution with your health ........ Robin |

Thanks Robin....I just bought them and you are quite right. 6 vitamins a day...wow..I took them this morning, and they did make me a little sick in the stomache, but then again I am on the cleanse and didn't have a whole lot for breakfast other than some pineapple.
I wasn't too sure about that Keifer thing either, but surprisingly I liked it with fresh fruit...
How much weight have you lost?
Good luck....

| Donna, try taking half in the morning and half in the evening and see if that helps you. I have lost a total of 13 pounds, although I have not lost anything in the last month, probably because I still can't exercise yet. I am not complaining though, I am still losing inches and hey, I am not gaining.......LOL!!!!! Woo Hoo! Funny, it was pineapple breakfast here too.....lol! Have a great day! |

Hello Jane.
To be honest; all the meds I took made me gain weight as well as made me feel crazy! In 1994, I was told I had Hashimoto Disease cause of primary hypothyroidism and was put on synthroid which made me gain weight and be the meanest witch on earth. So I quite take it and went to herbalist started taking kelp. Then in 1998 I was told I have Graves Disease which is a thyroid disorder characterized by goiter, exophthalmos, and hyperthyroidism then I was put on levythroid which also put more weight on. Then all of a sudden the weight start coming off so fast ( i didnt do anything no exercise and eating all the fast food i wanted) and I went from 325lbs to 160lbs; the Graves disease was out of control. My doctor then demanded radiation; after the procedure I didnt take any meds for a few years nor gained the weight back.
2002 Pregnant with my last child; they put me on PTU and I only gained 50lbs with her but as soon as i walked out the hospital I gained weight. After 6 months I was BACK up to 325 lbs again due to the thyroids. Because I know the weight lose will help the problem; i have been trying to lost weight since 2004. I have come a long ways; I know eating right and exercising is the key and I finally made a life time comment to changing my eating habits. At even starting with Medifast 325lbs and got down to 200lbs WHILE BEING MONITORED BY A DOCTOR; I then went back to my bad habits with gaining some of the weight back. So me and my family changed our entire kitchen to make it healthy for everyone; since starting this program at 260lbs now I am at 237lbs plus down two sizes and lost 6 inches in waist.
Here is the thing; I listen to my body and not the doctors. I worked in the medical industry for 15 years and they are all about making the money and pusing drugs in my eyes. I perfer to do it my grandmother way which is why i love this book. The natrual supplements work for me; I go to the doctor once a year for a check up and nothing is made of the thyroids. Cant answer you on the T3 and T4 because I havent been tested in a while. I can tell you this much; without the thyroid supplement I feel like i have the flu and very slugglish. Thats how i know my thyroids are acting up... But to prove a point to my doctor i always ask him to check my T3 and T4 once i am at my desired weight and guess what ~ no problem.
I hope that help...

| You know Stephanie I have to agree with you about the listen to your body. My doctor learned very quickly that I don't "do" prescription drugs unless it is a dire necessity. I use mostly all grandmothers remedies for everything. It always seems like that when you have a prescription for one thing, you end up on another because of side effects from the first drug. I read a book a while back about that very thing........can't remember the name just now, will have to look for it. I think we know our bodies best and should listen to them as you said. I also tell people if you go to the doctor because you think something is up and they don't listen to go to another doctor. I told one of my grandmothers that many years ago, but sadly by the time she listened it was already too late for her. I wish you tons of luck with your weight loss! |

Marie, hello....Yes, I am doing the cleanse...I too had a headache over the weekend. I ate a handful of almonds just to eat a little something which seemed to help. I also did my very first cheat meal, which was a pita salad sandwich which was on the healthy side.
I am sad to say tho that I was really hoping for better results as far as the cleansing goes...but I am going all the way to the end.
Drinking water can be difficult, but since I sit all day long, I have a large jug of water that I try to keep drinking. I will be glad when I am done with this.
