I was looking over the Spring Cleanse in the book.  Days 5-7 add in raw nuts and seeds.  I can't eat nuts raw, but I can eat them roasted.  I'm the same way with a lot of fresh fruits.  I can't eat them raw, but I can once they've been cooked.  Something in the cooking process destroys or changes whatever it is I'm allergic to.  So when it comes to eating anything like apples, pears, etc. I  slice them up and steam them.  Will I still get the same benefit from the cleanse if I don't eat these foods raw?

Thanks for your help!

Lori

Lori,

This may help in regards to nuts.  When Jordan is talking about raw nuts or seeds, they are often sprouted.  What I mean by that is they have been soaked in water for overnight, rinsed and then dried in a dehydrator or very low oven.  This process helps to remove the natural acid covering on the nuts and seeds that keep them from rotting when planted.  I often add a few tablespoons of celtic sea salt to the soaking water for added taste and nutrients from the salt.  I hope this helps.  Store the nuts in an air tight container after drying.  Good luck, Sue

ps- Don't soak in city clorinated tap water!

I will give that a try! Thanks, Sue!

And I agree about the chlorinated tap water. We put a filtration system and water softener in our house. It's so nice to be able to drink water right from the tap!
