Hello Everyone,

I have been using a DVD series entitled Oxycise! for several years now - albeit, off and on!

It takes only 15 mins. each day and involves deep breathing with isotonic and isometric positions. They even have an "Easy Does It" series for people with mobility problems and physical limitations that prohibit them from kneeling or lying on the floor. Great for toning your mid-section! I feel so energized and glowing when I finish each 15 min. session. Burns more calories than a stationary bike. Revs up your metabolism, too! Google it and check it out. No equipment or special clothing required. It can even be done in a recliner or on a bed if you are ill!

in His arms,

I do apologize if this came across as an advertisement for a product. I didn't mean to break the forum rules. I do not make money off of the DVDs. They have simply changed my life and supplied a wonderful tool for getting more oxygen into my life!

Hi,
I do one called Body Flex and with the plus program we use a bar wtih bands. My husband actually does them with me. I could never get him to exercise, but these are fast..only 15 minutes a day...and he feels good when they are done. I am going to get him on a rebounder tomorrow. The breathing really makes me feel good. I need to develop the habit of doing it daily. I do have the Oxycise program also, but have never done it. I will give it a try. I don't think saying Oxycise is any different than saying rebounder. It is good to hear from people what works for them. I am over 50 and these exercises don't hurt the body..increases flexibility..and just overall great.
Thanks

Tomorrow is my big day. It's the day I start eating correctly. I am concerned about the exercise part. I have severe arthritis in my hips, legs, and feet. There are times (most of the time) when I can hardly walk at all. I am encouraged to hear that  Oxycise and Bodyflex is working for you. I have both programs and will give them a try.

Dear Marie,

I begin my cleanse this evening! I am cooking the chicken soup as I type...I am so happy for you that you are making such a positive step towards better health and a higher quality of life. Way to go, Marie! I'm right by your side!

I cannot recommend Oxycise! highly enough for folks with disabilities and physical limitations.

If you Google the word and go to the site, you will find a link to a special series of DVDs called "Easy Does It". These exercises are done sitting in a chair wearing regular loose fitting clothing and also standing next to the chair while holding onto it for extra support. If even standing is difficult for you at times, you can do all of the the breathing sitting down. I have MS and in the past fatigue and extreme tingling and heaviness in my legs prohibited most exercise. Yet, Oxycise! was the one thing I could continue to participate in.

The deep breathing revs up your metabolism and brings life giving oxygen to your heart, brain, and muscles. As Jordan explains most of us breathe from the upper chest. Oxycise! teaches you how to use your diaphram and utilize your full lung capacity. Your neck will become more defined and toned, (if you have a turkey neck like me!) your entire abdominal section will tone and tighten. Every muscle in your body gets it share of strengthening and toning. (I love what it does for my face and neckline!)

The best thing about the "Easy Does It" series is that each 15 minute exercise set is divided into 5 minute segments. Almost anyone can do 5 minutes of seated exercises 3 times a day! I am confident that you will not be disappointed.

in His arms - right next to ya,

Jody

Jody, thanks so much for all the good info. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one with major limitations. I will google Oxycise and check it out. Being a former singer, I'm fortunate enough to remember how to breathe correctly, but unfortunately, having a heart problem and asthma, along with the weight, I'm short of breath most of the time. I am determined to stick to this...I'm sick of being sick.

Dear Marie,

Many, many of us deal with limitations - some so severe, (especially in the world of MS,) that I can't imagine getting through just one day with a positive outlook. You are certainly NOT alone! As this site grows, and more and more folks log on to the forums, your story will serve to inspire them!

your friend,

Jody

Jody, although I know that I'm not the only one with severe limitations, it seems they are seldom addressed. So it is good to find that there are people, like yourself, who have found the answer. How long have you been doing PWA and Oxycise? How is it working for you?

Marie,

I picked up the book last Sunday at my local Super Spplements - they were giving it away since Jordan was making a stop in Seattle last Tuesday evening. I had read his book about the Guts and Glory program and followed some of it for a time. (I have Ulcerative Colitis.) Then I slipped back into my sugar and chocolate addictions once again. So, when the book was given to me FREE I thought maybe God was trying to tell me something! I had been thinking about finding a program to follow for a several weeks. Now I've found it - it is a relief in itself to not be searching anymore.

So, my official start date was today although I signed up last Monday.

I have been doing Oxycise! off and on for a few years. I always lose weight when I am consistent with it. I seem to feel inspired to eat more heathfully when I am exercising regularly.

have to get to bed...pretty tired tonight...just didn't feel too well all day.

in His arms,

Jody

I post under Thinking a topic thread called Daily Grace...stop by tomorrow!

try working out using a snorkel...i know it sounds crazy but you get double the affect in under half the time...its a technique called hypoxia training...it forces you to just breathe out of your mouth and not through your nose while working out...there are several professional fighters in the mixed martial arts world that do this and it not only helps burn fat but it also helps build your stamina.
